How to Create a Database of Stock Prices, Commodity Prices, Stock Price Indices and Economic Data.

This tool helps the user to create a database of stock and economic metrics, accompanied by a step-by-step method.

Description
This tool, brought to you by Ed Bodmer, is a detailed guide which explains the process of creating a database, comparing:

- Historic stock price indices
- Commodity prices
- Stock price indices
- Economic data

This database can be updated automatically, with new dates and new series, such as stocks, economic series, commodity prices and stock indices.

To use this file, it is a simply a question of entering stock tickers, symbols for stork indices, commodity price symbols from the Federal Reserve Economic Database (FRED), and codes for economic series.

This tool will explain include tips, videos and a PowerPoint to demonstrate how to do so.

The file attached will import data from Yahoo finance monthly. It is possible to change the importation frequency to daily or weekly, for example.

Also included is an easy to follow guide on how to use stock, commodity and economic database sections. There is a blank file attached to be used for working through the steps, with a second file showing the completed version.
