What is a Chief Financial Officer?

A Chief Financial Officer, or CFO, is the main individual that is responsible for managing the financial affairs of a company. Their responsibilities involve overseeing the financial operations of the company, which include: financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting. In addition to this, they play a key role in strategic planning, which helps the company to set long-term financial goals and develop the strategies and tactics needed to achieve them. The CFO is typically responsible for managing the company's financial resources, including its capital budget, and for ensuring that the company is complying with all financial regulations and reporting requirements. Furthermore, the CFO often serves as a key adviser to the CEO and other senior executives on financial matters, helping to inform decision-making and provide financial insights that can help guide the direction of the company.
