
BCG's Strategy Palette (or Strategic Style) Matrix Template


Founded by Bruce Henderson in 1963, Boston Consulting Group (BCG) is among the top three largest strategy consulting firms in the world and is regarded as one of the most prestigious companies in its industry.
They have been pioneers in business strategy since their founding, developing strategies and frameworks that organizations implement frequently. One popular example is the BCG Growth-Share Matrix which they developed in the 1970s to help companies decide how cash should be allocated among units within the business. Companies would sort its business units into four different categories: ‘Stars’, ‘Cash Cows’, ‘Question marks’ or ‘Dogs’. Then, companies decide how to allocate their cash appropriately.
