I started my career in 2014 as an investment banking analyst at BMO, where I worked on the C$300M Sleep Country IPO. I interfaced with the PE seller (Birch Hill), built the IPO model, and performed comparables analysis to support the multiple. Furthermore, I modeled the US$156M acquisition of Atlas Paper by Resolute Forest Products, which helped the acquiror expand into the tissue space. After two years at BMO, I worked at Imperial Capital, a mid-market private equity firm with a $500M fund focusing on healthcare and business services in North America. I worked on the acquisitions of Northland Laboratories and Richter International, which was part of a roll-up of food testing labs involving dozens of potential targets. I performed due diligence and modeled the targets on a standalone and consolidated LBO model, which led to the execution of a successful roll-up strategy in a niche sector untouched by private equity.
