Weighted average Cost of Capital (WACC) with screener macro

WACC calculator with screening macro to automatically extract beta and D/E

Description
This easy and flexible tool allows you to estimate the discount rate as the weighted average cost of capital (WACC). The cost of equity is estimated based on the CAPM model.

The model includes the following tabs:
- Extraction;
- Peer group analysis;
- WACC calculator;
- Tax rate by country.

In the extraction sheet you just input the tickers of the company considered as peers. Be sure to have macros enabled in your excel then click "Get data" button. The macro will automatically extract beta equity and D/E ratio for the tickers using Yahoo Finance as a source of information.

In the Peer group analysis sheet you can input the company's names and country of residence. Based on the country of residence, the tax Country's tax rate will be extracted. On column I (see pictures) you can decide if you wish to keep the company within the peer, depending on the metrics. If you decide the company is an outlier you can simply remove the "x" and it will not enter the analysis.

In the WACC calculator sheet input all orange cells with the relevant data: company tax rate, risk free rate, equity risk premium, size premium (if the case), alpha premium (if the case), interest rate. The calculator will estimate the weighted average cost of capital both pre tax and after tax.

When using the model, you should only input data in the orange marked cells.

The model is great to assess the discount rate and automatically extract info from a database that is easily and flexibly connected with your discount rate.

Should you have any questions on the model you can always contact us.
