HR Dashboard – Excel Employee Database with Live KPIs, PivotCharts & One-Click Refresh

A complete HR workforce dashboard in Excel — tracking your entire employee base in one unlimited-growth database.

Description
This HR Dashboard is a complete Excel workbook built for HR managers, business owners, and people operations teams who need a clear, centralized view of their workforce without investing in a full HRIS platform. At its core is a single, expandable Employee Master table — one row per employee — capturing everything from basic details and employment status to salary, performance, and tenure.

Built as a native Excel Table, the Employee Master grows without limit: add new hires simply by typing into the row below the last one, with dropdown validation (Department, Gender, Employment Status, Employment Type, Location) and automatic formulas extending instantly. Tenure and Age are calculated automatically from hire date and date of birth — for employees who have left, tenure correctly freezes at their exit date rather than continuing to count against today. The KPIs (Executive Summary) sheet turns that raw employee data into 20 live metrics: total active headcount, total employees ever recorded, attrition and retention rate, average tenure and age, gender split, total monthly payroll, average and highest salary, full-time versus contract headcount, new hires and exits this year, average performance rating, and employees flagged below a performance threshold. Every KPI uses COUNTIF/SUMIFS/AVERAGE formulas referencing the table directly, updating instantly with zero manual steps.

The Charts sheet adds four PivotTable-driven visuals: Headcount by Department, Gender Distribution, Employment Status Breakdown, and Average Monthly Salary by Department. Because PivotCharts require a refresh to reflect new data, a one-click "Refresh Charts" button (built with a simple macro) updates all four at once and confirms completion with an on-screen message — giving you the analytical flexibility of PivotCharts without the risk of forgetting to refresh. The workbook is macro-enabled (.xlsm) to support this button, with a security prompt on first open being normal and expected.
