Description
This is a financial model for the formulation of animal feeds, namely: poultry feed, dairy feed & pig feed. The feed is then packaged & distributed to retailers and wholesalers for sale.
The model entails procurement of ingredients and formulation to come up with quality feeds.

The model assumes two mills. Mill A of 5 MT per hour and Mill B of similar capacity which comes online at a later stage. Mill A starts from onset. For each mill, one can change the following: production capacity per hour, working days in a month, working hours in a day, start date, capacity utilization rate ramp-up etc.

One can also decide to change the % proportion for each type of feed.

Formulation for each feed type can also be changed depending on the nutritional needs.

Revenue assumptions can be adjusted in the assumptions tab on a per MT basis. The bag size has also been provided and can be flexed accordingly. The selling prices can also be increased annually to adjust for inflation.

The cost of each raw material has been provided and one can update in order to reflect prevailing market conditions.

Number of employees for each job position can also be adjusted and the monthly salaries for each role. Other costs include: marketing, branding, utilities, insurance, repairs and maintenance and logistics.

Capital requirement and funding pland have also been included in the model including the days of payables, days of inventory and days of receivables.

The model can also look at the gross margins for each product and compare which one performs better than the other and can be useful in decision making.
