FOF Part 3 - What does the Finance Team of the future look like and how do we get there?

This session is filled with a lot of practical aspects of what the Finance team of the future will contain. This is far more than just the technical or digital skills that need to be embraced but far wider than that.

The way we work together, solve problems from the customers perspective (not our own) and the way we set up ourselves to be innovative in what we do.

Supporting our people is at the heart of this change and the important of leadership cannot be underestimated given the magnitude of change that Finance has to undergo.

This change will see us be more aligned to the business and its key priorities rather than the priorities that we set for ourselves or are set by our shareholders or regulators.

The compliance aspects of our roles whilst has value, it is not valued by the business we support and is often at conflict with our ability to deliver true insight and value to the business stakeholders that are looking to us to solve some of their most complex issues.

The way in which we solve problems and analyse information will need to change, this is more than just using an Excel spreadsheet but engaging and influencing decision making with both financial modeling and advanced analytics.
