In this Excel file you will find an Excel Financial Business model of a FMCG company.

Modeled in this file are: production costs (variable and fixed costs), sales costs, gross margin, net margin, Head-office costs and finally the profit and loss statement, along with the Working Capital statement. We assumed sales via 2 main channels: traditional small stores (via some wholesalers) and retail chains that we sell to directly.

The model you can be used in a due diligence context to check whether a startup idea in the FMCG sector makes sense and/or to try to find ways to improve the profitability of the business.

You can adjust the model by changing the parameters that are highlighted in blue. FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) business models, as all consumer goods related businesses, are very demanding in terms of sales & marketing and are not the easiest to manage when it comes to the supply chain.

Consulting projects, especially when it comes to Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), are pretty difficult in terms of analysis.
