ChemDesign Costing Studio Lite is a 64-bit Excel-based engineering costing application for estimating CAPEX, COGM, COGS and project financial returns.

Description
ChemDesign Costing Studio Lite is a practical 64-bit Windows and Microsoft Excel application for preparing structured engineering cost estimates and evaluating the financial viability of process, manufacturing and technical projects.

The software combines a native Windows calculation interface with a macro-enabled Excel workbook. Users can build and revise estimates through an organised graphical interface while Excel acts as the live, auditable project data store. Changes made in Costing Studio are synchronised with the workbook, allowing project inputs, supplier quotations, assumptions and calculated results to be reviewed after the Studio window is closed.

Costing Studio Lite supports the complete deterministic costing workflow, from defining the project and entering equipment costs through to manufacturing-cost calculations and project economics.

The integrated Quotation Manager allows users to capture and manage actual supplier quotations for a specific project. Each quotation can include the supplier, reference number, quotation date, equipment type, technical description, quoted cost, currency, capacity, material of construction, delivery basis, validity date and commercial notes.

Quotations can be added, edited, deleted, compared and applied to the project equipment list. Costing Studio calculates the minimum, average and maximum values for comparable quotations using the same equipment category and currency. A currency-validation safeguard prevents a quotation from being applied when its currency differs from the project operating currency.

USD is the default project currency. Users can also select EUR, GBP, ZAR, AUD, CAD, JPY, CHF, CNY, INR, AED, SAR, NZD, SGD or HKD. The software does not perform hidden currency conversions or retrieve live exchange rates, helping users retain control over the exchange-rate basis applied to an estimate.

The package includes worked USD examples covering:

These examples help new users understand the relationship between equipment, operating inputs, costing factors, supplier quotations and financial outputs. The Professional equipment database and Professional Monte Carlo risk-analysis functions are not included in the Lite edition.
