UAE End of Service Gratuity Calculator – Excel Tool Based on Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021

An Excel calculator that automatically computes end-of-service gratuity for UAE private-sector employees based on basic salary and length of service.

Description
This UAE End of Service (EOS) Gratuity Calculator is a formula-driven Excel template designed to help HR professionals, payroll administrators, business owners, and employees quickly and accurately estimate the statutory end-of-service gratuity owed under UAE labor law. Rather than manually working through tiered day-rates and date calculations, users enter basic details into yellow input cells and the sheet does the rest.

The template is structured in three stages. First, Employee & Service Details captures the employee's name, basic monthly salary, date of joining, last working day, any unpaid leave days taken during employment, and the reason the contract ended. Second, Service Duration automatically calculates total days and years of continuous service from the two dates entered, and flags whether the employee meets the minimum one-year eligibility threshold. Third, Gratuity Calculation applies the UAE's official tiered formula: 21 days' basic wage for each of the first five years of service, and 30 days' basic wage for each year beyond five, with the total automatically capped at two years' total basic salary as required by Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021.

The calculator uses basic salary only, in line with UAE law, and excludes allowances such as housing or transport from the gratuity base. Built-in notes clarify key legal nuances — the one-year minimum service requirement, the exclusion of allowances, the statutory cap, and the fact that free zones such as DIFC and ADGM follow separate rules. The template is intended as a fast estimation tool, not a substitute for formal legal, HR, or payroll advice, and works in Excel, Google Sheets, and LibreOffice Calc.
