If you want to raise money for your company from venture capital investors, then you must have a perfect pitch deck that has all of the critical elements that are expected in the proper order, all combined into a compelling story that is authentic and moving. 

The best practice that I am sharing with you was built for a biotech company, where I am the Chief Business Officer. Prior to this experience, I started Stelvio Therapeutics, an oncology company that was based in San Diego. I successfuly raised money from Silicon Valley and Southern California and I learned through experience as a CEO. Even if you are raising money for a company that is not a biotech, this best practice applies to you. 


In a nutshell, venture capital investors want to see a problem to solve, a solution (a product or technology), the market, competitors, how your product differentiates from competitors (something no one else has), the team, business model, milestones, the offering, the use of proceeds, and the exit. Additional slides are included in the appendix such as the business plan, financial information and comparables. If you use this method and have something that is truly going to change the world, then you will be successful. In the capital structure slide, you will see the private placements for a total of $2.3 million that were successfully raised by using this pitch deck with investors. 


This is a proven slide deck and I can share with you the investment contracts and subscription agreements as proof. Building an investor pitch deck takes a long time and must be rehearsed so that the delivery is flawless. Basically it must be memorized, including every single word that you say. More importantly, the pitch presentation has to tell a story that investors will remember. The key to every pitch presentation is getting to the next investor meeting until you close the financing, which means the money is in your bank account.
