Permit to Work Dashboard
The PTW Dashboard is a tracking system designed to monitor and manage permits issued for various work activities in a workplace.
1. Dashboard Overview
The "Dashboard" sheet appears to be a placeholder, currently empty but likely intended to provide a visual overview or summary of the key metrics from the data. This may eventually include charts or tables that summarize permit status, PTW issuance trends, and compliance.
This sheet contains detailed information about different types of permits and their associated details. It includes columns such as:
- PTW Types: Lists different types of work permits such as Hot Work, Cold Work, Confined Space, Work at Height, and Excavation.
- Permit Receiver: Identifies the personnel or contractors responsible for receiving the permit.
- Permit Issuer: Details the department or individual responsible for issuing the permits, such as Construction, Maintenance, and Security.
- Area/Location: Specifies the exact location or building number where the work is taking place.
The "Data" sheet contains records of individual permits issued, with each row representing a permit. The columns track various details such as:
- PTW Record Serial: A unique identifier for each permit.
- Date, Month, and Quarter: Time-based columns tracking when the permit was issued.
- Type of Permit: Specifies the type of permit (e.g., Hot Work, Cold Work).
- Permit Receiver and Issuer: Identifies who received and issued the permit.
- Area / Location: The specific location where the work is performed.
- Activity: Describes the activity for which the permit is issued.
- Shift Type: Specifies whether the work is being done during the day or night shift.
- PTW Inspection Status: Indicates whether the permit-to-work inspection was performed.
- PTW Status: Shows whether the permit is open or closed.
- Permit Validity and PTW Closed on Time: Tracks if the permit was valid for the required period and whether it was closed on time.
- Remarks: A column for any additional notes or comments.
The "Analysis" sheet provides high-level metrics and summaries of PTW data, including:
- Total PTW Issued: The total number of permits issued, which in the sample data is 46.
- PTW Open: The number of permits currently open (28 in the sample).
- PTW Closed: The number of permits that have been closed (18 in the sample).
- PTW Inspection Status: The number of inspections carried out (35 in the sample).
This PTW dashboard is likely used by safety or operations teams to:
- Monitor Work Permits: Track different types of work permits issued for specific tasks or high-risk activities.
- Ensure Safety Compliance: Ensure that work is conducted under safe conditions with the proper permits and inspections in place.
- Track PTW Status: Keep an eye on the status of permits, whether open, closed, or if they were closed on time.
- Facilitate Reporting: Provide a consolidated view of all PTW activities for analysis, compliance reporting, and safety audits.
