In this file I will show you how to model consulting business in Excel in order to create a business / financial model. We start with modeling capacity of the business. Later on I move on to modeling sales and cost side. Thanks to this model you will be able to estimate how much you can earn from you consulting business, assuming prices and costs on different level of consultants.
The financial model attach will help you start or scale your business, understand what drivers the profits and to prepare to potential problems that may occur. The attached model in Excel will also help you manage your cash flows and to understand the implications of the growth as well as changes to certain drivers (utilisation level, structure of the company, price and cost per 1 consultant, size of the office etc.)
The model can be easily modified by changing the parameters in blue. This will have no impact on the logic of the model and will help you to get immediately recalculated results.
