PURPOSE OF MODEL

User-friendly Excel model for the calculation of Beta metrics for up to 3 shares. The tool calculates beta using monthly historic pricing data for the past 5 years. It follows best practice financial modelling principles and includes instructions and line item explanations.


KEY OUTPUTS

The key outputs include:
- Raw beta, adjusted beta and unlevered beta for each of the 3 shares
- Average monthly return, standard deviation and R-squared
- Charts comparing share returns against market returns


KEY INPUTS

Inputs include:
- Share and market index names
- Latest month
- Currency
- Debt/equity ratios
- Effective tax rate
- Monthly pricing data for past 5 years


MODEL STRUCTURE

The model contains, 3 tabs:
- A 'Front Sheet' containing a disclaimer and instructions;
- An Input tab for all the user-defined data inputs
- A results tab for presentation of all the outputs
