Description
Using my experience as an entrepreneurship professor who teaches the lean start up methodology, I take viewers through the entire lean start up methodology in 11 minutes. In the video, I focus on all the key elements of the lean start up approach. I focus on the history of lean start up and talk about its roots in the lean manufacturing process from 1980s Japan. I talk about the main purpose of the lean start up. This involves focusing on understanding how to build a product or service that a customer base wants in the fastest and cheapest way possible. I talk about how the lean start up approach can help to systematically minimize the negative impact of entrepreneurial failure. I let viewers know when to pivot their business. Indeed, the pivot or persevere aspect is one of the greatest challenges that entrepreneurs experience when growing their business. I talk about how to know when to pivot and when to continue on the same path.

In the video, I draw on my vast knowledge of business school experience and my over 20 years of entrepreneurship experience. From my academic experience, I’m an associate professor of entrepreneurship and strategy in the Faculty of Business and Information Technology at Ontario Tech University. Prior to joining Ontario Tech University, I was an assistant professor at Nipissing University, Ryerson University, and Leibniz Universität Hannover. I also taught at the St. Petersburg Polytechinical University in Russia and the University of Bradford School of Management in Britain.
