How to Overcome Your Fear of Public Speaking

In this video, Dominic shares his top tips for how you can get past your public speaking anxiety and present confidently

Description
In this video, public speaking expert Dominic Colenso shares his tips and advice for how to overcome your fear of public speaking and presenting.

The main thing that your audience wants from you is not simply the information and knowledge that you are going to give them. Your audience wants to be engaged.

Chris' first tip for you is that you need to realise that your audience actually want you to succeed. No one comes to a presentation hoping for it to be a waste of their time, and as such, the audience are on your side. The audience is not something you need to be scared of and shy away from - they are supporting you.

His second tip is simply: if you don't tell them, they won't know. This means that if you don't tell your audience you're very nervous, they won't know. Often during presentations, people think they appear more nervous than they actually do, often making them even more anxious. However, on watching back, their nervousness is far less apparent than they thought. Therefore, if you don't tell them they won't know.

Chris then goes on to explain how you can talk to your audience as though they are your friends. Chris explains how you can use different techniques to establish a real connection with your audience and really engage them with your presentation.

By following Chris' key tips and techniques, you will be able to give a confident and dynamic presentation that will involve and engage your audience and help you overcome your anxieties.
