The Employee Bonus Allocation Calculator is an Excel-based tool designed to help business owners, CFOs, HR teams, and finance professionals allocate a defined bonus pool across employees in a structured, transparent and performance-driven manner.

The calculator combines business cash availability, employee compensation, eligibility, performance scores, target bonus percentages, and management overrides to determine an appropriate bonus allocation for each employee.
Users can enter key business inputs including the proposed bonus pool, bonus payment date, employer payroll tax rate, retirement or benefit load rate, cash on hand, minimum cash reserve, existing bonus accruals, upcoming payroll and vendor payments, taxes, expected customer collections and collection confidence.

The employee input section allows users to capture employee names, departments, base salaries, bonus eligibility, performance scores, and target bonus percentages. Based on these inputs, the calculator calculates weighted performance scores and suggested bonus amounts.

The tool also supports discretionary bonus allocation through manual overrides, giving management flexibility to adjust individual awards while maintaining visibility over the overall bonus pool.

A reconciliation section compares the target bonus pool with the final allocated bonuses and highlights any under-allocation or over-allocation. The department-level summary shows total bonuses allocated to each department and its percentage of the overall bonus pool.
