Sales Tracker Excel Model Template

At the simplest form, this template is designed for the entry of historical sales and it will track count and amount current 12 months and previous 12 months.

Description
Sales tracking is important and here you have a template designed and formatted specifically to show relevant sales data and easily print on 8.5 x 11. It also comes in a Google Sheets (link in download).

The data entry is simple. Enter the sale amount, product/service, and date on the 'data' tab to record sales.

The dashboard will display 12 months of time based on the start month and it will also automatically show the sames sales for the previous year of each month.

You can select to show 'All' data or just a specific product/service. There is also a selector to choose any start / end date and see the resulting sales for that period. This is also slicable for each individual product/service or view all.

Tracking sales year over year is important for several reasons:

Measure Growth: By comparing sales data from one year to the next, a business can evaluate its growth or decline. This helps identify trends and allows the company to take corrective action if sales are declining.

Forecast Future Sales: Year-over-year sales data can be used to forecast future sales trends, which can help businesses plan for the future. Accurate sales forecasting is essential for inventory management, production planning, and budgeting.

Identify Seasonal Patterns: Many businesses have seasonal patterns in their sales. By tracking sales year over year, a company can identify these patterns and adjust marketing, production, and inventory accordingly.

Compare Performance: Year-over-year sales data allows a company to compare its performance to industry standards, competitors, and its own past performance. This information can help the business identify areas where it needs to improve and areas where it is doing well.

Evaluate Marketing Efforts: Year-over-year sales data can help a business evaluate the effectiveness of its marketing campaigns. If sales increase after a marketing campaign, it indicates that the campaign was successful, while declining sales may indicate a need to reevaluate the campaign or adjust its messaging.
