Sinek's "Start with Why" Golden Circle Template Model

😍"People don't buy what you do, They buy why you do it." (Simon SINEK, How great leaders inspire action, TED Talk, 2009)
This central statement by renowned visionary thinker, intellectual and Business Consultant Simon SINEK, in his 2009 TED Talk corners the "Golden Circle" model, that explains how leaders can build strong brands and exceptionnal sales performance.
It was also introduced in his influential book "Start With Why." It is a framework designed to help individuals and organizations understand and communicate their purpose more effectively.
The concept is simple. Start with .... "WHY"
The Golden Circle consists of three concentric circles: "Why," "How," and "What.":
😍 WHY? – The Purpose : the deeppurpose or belief that drives an organization or individual. It's the coremotivation that inspires and connects with people on an emotional level.Clearly understanding and communicating the "Why" fosters loyalty andengagement among employees, customers, and partners
⚙️ HOW? – The Process : processesand methods that bring the "Why" to life. It includes the strategies,systems, values, and behaviors that align with the organization's purpose. Awell-defined "How" ensures consistency and effectiveness in pursuingthe "Why.”
🎁 WHAT? - The Product / Service : thetangible products, services, or results that an organization or individualoffers. It's the concrete manifestation of the "Why" and "How”.A well-executed "What" reflects the vision and values of theenterprise, strengthening stakeholder loyalty and engagement.
Here are below 6 examples where the "Golden Circle" is applied (5 from my own personal experience as a CEO or leader for each of the companies) :
1. APPLE :
WHY? – The Purpose : We think differently. We want to challenge the status quo.
HOW? – The Process : The way we do this is by making products that are easy to use, elegant, and well designed.
WHAT? - The Product / Service : And we just happen to make computers as our products.
2. ADVENTURES STUDIO :
WHY? – The Purpose : We believe that entrepreneurs must directly contribute to the common good, and that ventures don’t need to fail 90% of the time.
HOW? – The Process : The way we do this is by giving ventures access to unique “resilient” methodologies and top tier entrepreneurial talents.
WHAT? - The Product / Service : And we just happen to create, build and sell ventures.
3. ELOQUENS.COM :
WHY? – The Purpose : We believe know-how is a common good and that it deserves to be maximally available.
HOW? – The Process : The way we do this is by building an online marketplace that is easy to use and specifically built for authors of Professional Best Practices.
WHAT? - The Product / Service : And Eloquens.com just happens to sell professional best practices (models, frameworks, templates, methods…).
4. WIMI :
WHY? – The Purpose : We believe that professional data deserves to be fully protected against any legal or illegal retrieval.
HOW? – The Process : The way we do this is by building a sovereign, secure and user-friendly software that helps teams collaborate on projects.
WHAT? - The Product / Service : And we just happen to make a complete collaborative suite (HQ in France), guaranteed by the SecNumCloud ANSSI cybersecurity qualification.
5. KROQI :
WHY? – The Purpose : We believe that construction projects would be better in terms of quality, delays, and life-cycle management if BIM (digital model formats) is more widely used.

WHAT? - The Product / Service : And we just happen to sell a complete collaborative platform with all the necessary features to work in BIM Mode.
6. SKYROCKET & PARTNERS :
WHY? – The Purpose : We believe that products and services offered to customers would be better if leaders in organisations clearly mastered Strategy.
HOW? – The Process : The way we do this is by building user friendly strategy content for business leaders.
WHAT? - The Product / Service : And we just happen to sell hundreds of strategy framework templates.
