Indirect Procurement Essentials — Complete Programme: Handbook, 120 Slides, 35 Unlocked Working Tools

The complete entry programme for indirect spend: handbook, deck and 35 working tools.

Description
Between thirty-five and forty-five per cent of what most organisations spend with third parties is indirect — software, professional services, contingent labour, marketing, facilities, maintenance supplies, travel, energy. In most organisations it belongs to nobody in particular. This is the complete programme for taking control of it.

Eight modules, from what counts as indirect spend through spend visibility, category strategy, running a sourcing event, negotiation, contracts and channels, to proving the value afterwards. Three components designed together: a 70-page written handbook carrying the full argument in prose, a 120-slide deck carrying the visuals and the data, and 35 working tools that do the analysis on your own data. Each handbook section names the slide it belongs to.

Every spreadsheet ships unlocked with live formulas, one worked example row and a blank working area. Nothing is password-protected, because a template a professional cannot adapt is worth nothing.

It is not a video course and does not pretend to be. It is mapped to CIPS and ISM/CPSM competency areas but is not accredited by, endorsed by or affiliated with either. All case studies are composite.

Who it is for: buyers and category managers moving into indirect spend, procurement professionals with direct material experience who need the indirect method, finance and operations managers who buy without a procurement function behind them, and consultants who want a structured base to work from.

What it is not: this is not an advanced programme. It teaches the method thoroughly at a working level and stops before the specialist category depth, commercial modelling and operating model design that belong to the Mastery tier. If you already take category strategies through governance routinely, start there instead.

This Best Practice includes
PowerPoint course deck (121 slides), 70-page handbook (PDF), 35 tools: 18 Excel, 14 Word, 3 PowerPoint.

Further information

• Take a set of indirect categories from no visibility to a defensible spend cube and a ranked opportunity pipeline.
• Position a category and write a one-page strategy that gets approved.
• Run a competitive sourcing event end to end and negotiate the deal.
• Convert a negotiated agreement into savings that finance recognises.

• You have just inherited indirect categories and need to produce a result.
• You are moving from transactional buying into category management.
• You buy and negotiate from finance, operations, facilities or IT without formal procurement training.

• You already run categories at a senior level and need advanced material.
• You want a video course with an instructor; this is written and self-paced.
• You need an accredited qualification; this is mapped to, not accredited by, CIPS and ISM.
